The Women Who Keep Jets.com Flying
Published: March 8, 2026
There's a reason Jets.com clients experience a seamless journey from takeoff to touchdown, and it starts long before anyone boards a plane. Behind every smooth transaction, trusted vendor partnership, and balanced ledger is a team driven by precision, accountability, and pride in the work.
In honor of International Women's Day, we're spotlighting the talented women of the Jets.com accounting team: the force powering the business forward, one detail at a time.
In the fast-paced and high-demand world of private aviation, they’ve built a culture of excellence, collaboration, and constant improvement. Led by Accounting Director, Amanda Schettini, and supported by an exceptional group of professionals, the team exemplifies the Jets.com commitment to personalized, world-class service at every level.
The Sunset Report sat down with the women of the team to learn more about their experiences at Jets.com, and what inspires them to keep raising the bar.
A Team That Feels Like Family
At the heart of the accounting team’s success is a culture of camaraderie and support.
Accounting Director Amanda Schettini describes the dynamic:
"My favorite part about working in accounting at Jets.com is the happiness I get from working so closely with people I consider friends and family. It’s the fun we have even while navigating stressful situations and deadlines, and the way we support one another through it all. This is not a typical accounting role…and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Senior Accountant Julia Kashchak shares a similar perspective:
“When I started my journey at Jets.com, it felt like more than a job. It felt like becoming part of a big family. Our team is driven by success, honesty, and the determination to overcome challenges together while growing stronger along the way. Every day is a learning experience and having that support system makes all the difference.”

A Place to Grow and Thrive
For the women of the Jets.com accounting team, the culture they've created together is just as important as the work itself.
According to Senior Staff Accountant Sona Donchuk:
“The environment at Jets.com is everything. We laugh together, we support one another, and that sense of teamwork makes every day better. I also love how we’re constantly growing our skills. Each of us brings something unique to the table, and those different strengths help the entire team develop and succeed.”
That sense of daily growth resonates deeply with Accountant Olena Chekmak, who appreciates the supportive environment and the opportunity to build her skills alongside her colleagues:
“My favorite thing about working at Jets.com is the environment and the people around me. I enjoy being part of a team of professionals where I have the opportunity to learn and develop every day.”
Olena also reflects on what International Women’s Day represents, drawing from her own personal and professional experiences:
“I was born and raised in a country where the holiday was celebrated, but true equality was not always reflected in professional opportunities for women. After arriving in the United States, I saw that women have far greater opportunities to realize their professional ambitions.
At Jets.com, employees are valued for their professionalism, hard work, and responsibility. Everyone treats each other with respect while maintaining a strong professional culture. The company creates the conditions for growth and success regardless of gender, and I come to work with genuine pleasure, watching our company grow brings even greater satisfaction.”
Solving Challenges Together
The team’s collaborative spirit and problem-solving ability is especially evident when tackling major initiatives. Over the past year, one of the most significant milestones was a transition to a new accounting software platform, a process that proved far more complex than expected.
Amanda reflects on the experience:
“Transitioning to a new accounting software platform turned out to be much more challenging than expected, but we worked through it together and are now thriving. That spirit of teamwork and support, creating an environment where people help one another succeed, will always be my greatest accomplishment.”
For Julia, the real success lies in the shared determination behind those moments:
“There have been many projects and challenges, but the most valuable thing has been having people around me who support and understand each other as we work toward the same goals. That shared mindset and teamwork is the greatest accomplishment.”

More Than Numbers
Ask anyone outside the field what accountants do, and you'll get some version of the same answer: numbers, spreadsheets, and taxes. The reality, especially in a fast-moving private aviation company, is far more nuanced. The work demands communication, critical thinking, and adaptability as much as it does technical precision.
Sona has seen the misconception firsthand:
“Most people think accounting simply as debits and credits, and of course, that’s part of it. But accounting is much broader than that. It requires both technical expertise and soft skills and spans many areas. Depending on your strengths and interests, there’s a path within accounting where you can enjoy your work every day.”
Julia agrees, and takes it a step further:
“The world of accounting can be challenging to explain from the outside. Being smart isn’t enough: you also need experience, critical thinking, and the ability to anticipate challenges while keeping the end goal in sight.”
Together, the women of the Jets.com accounting team ensure the business runs with the same precision and care that clients expect from every flight, bringing expertise, partnership, and dedication to every detail behind the scenes.
